The American Red Cross (ARC) is consolidating and moving its mission-critical operations from five locations into its renovated historical headquarters. The transition of operations and personnel must be planned so that ARC's ability to carry out its relief work is not interrupted. Additionally, ARC has to vacate its leased facilities within the same timeframe as the completion of the new headquarters.

Gilbane was selected to manage the ARC's complex project because of our extensive experience with critical operations facilities and focus on contingency planning. To support the project's requirements, Gilbane developed a master relocation schedule and move-sequencing plan. Gilbane worked with each department to identify appropriate levels of operational redundancy and developed contingency plans, a facilities operations manual for the ARC campus and prepared "virtual occupancy" testing scenarios for all operations and systems.
